Major Crackdown Launched On Terror Network In J&K After Doda Encounter

 

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday launched a major crackdown against terror networks following a deadly encounter in Doda in the Union Territory in which four army personnel, including an officer, were killed in combat. Police said several overland workers and terrorist sympathizers have been arrested and crackdown operations have been intensified. Meanwhile, anti-terror operations are underway in Desa area of ​​Doda. A large number of army and paramilitary forces are conducting search and area control operations in the area. Doda Encounter

Four Indian soldiers, including an officer, were killed in an encounter with terrorists in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday night.

Captain Brijesh Thapa, Naik D Rajesh, Sepoy Vijendra and Sepoy Ajay were martyred.

This was the second major clash in the Jammu region after five soldiers were killed in an encounter in Kathua last week.

The attack, which also left five soldiers injured, was a coordinated attack on two trucks carrying at least 12 soldiers.

The terrorists aimed grenades at the trucks, about 500 metres away, and in a worrying sign, used armour-piercing rounds (hardened steel tips) and M4 assault rifles.

Terror attacks that began in Poonch and Rajouri districts have spread to Jammu region, which was terror-free until a few years ago.


In the last 32 months, 48 ​​soldiers have been killed in fighting in Jammu region.
