Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has alleged that the previous state government had commercialised Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD). Naidu also asserted that prasadam should be of good quality, prices should not be increased and tickets for 'darshan' should not be sold in the black market. They have turned this religious place into a hub for marijuana, alcohol and non-vegetarian food. N Chandrababu Naidu also assured that the cleansing will start with the TTD.


Naidu, during his visit to the temple after taking oath of office on Wednesday, also criticised the previous YSRCP government for commercialising Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. My aim is not only to generate wealth but also to distribute it to the poor." Naidu's son and cabinet minister Nara Lokesh also accompanied the chief minister. Naidu was given a traditional welcome by officials and priests and given theertham (holy water) and prasadam. After the visit, the chief minister will return to Amaravati at 4.41 pm and take up his secretariat post. He will then take up several files including mega DSC (recruitment of teachers), repeal of the Land Ownership Act and increase in social pension to Rs 4,000 per month. He will also address files relating to revival of Anna canteens and entitlement count.
