He was just so angry': Meet NYT's Doug Mills, who captured the bullets that flew past Donald Trump
Doug Mills has worked as a photographer in The New York Times' Washington bureau since 2002.
Veteran New York Times (NYT) photojournalist Doug Mills, who took the now iconic photo of a bullet flying past Donald Trump during Saturday's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, said the former president was "just so angry" while clenching his fist. The next moment, all the color seemed to drain from his face... He turned pale and I could see blood on the side of his face," Mills told the NYT.
I went to the side of the stage, where they (Secret Service agents) took him away. There was a lot of pushing, shoving, screaming. "I blocked everything out and tried to capture the historic moment. That's my job. That's what we do ... every photographer that was at the pool that day," Mills added.
