Pune police registered FIR against parents of IAS trainee Pooja Khedkar for threatening local farmers
Pune Municipal Police registered FIR against parents of IAS officers Pooja Khedkar, Manorama Khedkar, Dilip Khedkar and five others at Paud police station FIR registered. Protesting local farmers blamed Manorama Khedekar for the attack.
ANI reports that Senior Police Inspector at Paud police station said that an FIR has been registered under Sections 323, 504 and 506 of the IPC.
Police said charges under the Arms Act were also included.
Puja Khedkar, who is part of IAS officer batch 2023, is accused of cheating to become OBC non-creamy layer candidate during UPSC candidacy. He also claimed that he was blind and mentally ill, but refused to be examined to verify these claims.
A video showing IAS officer Puja Khedkar's mother threatening a group of men with a gun has gone viral, adding to the debate about the bureaucrat's suffering. The scene shot in the film involves a plot of land purchased by Puja's father Dilip Khedkar, a retired Maharashtra worker, in Dhadwali village of Pune's Mulshi tehsil.
Villagers accused the Hedekars of encroaching on the lands of neighboring farmers. In the video, Manorama Khedekar, along with security personnel, is seen exchanging views with her neighbors. She was later seen shouting at a man with a gun hidden in her hand.
A senior official of Pune Rural Police told reporters, "We have received a report regarding the video posted on social media platforms. Once the facts are clear, we will launch an investigation. We will see if Manorama Khedkar has a gun licence." . . In this case, farmer Kuldeep Pasalkar alleged that Manorama Khedkar was trying to encroach on his land.
