PM Modi Meets Tech CEOs In New York, Discusses Emerging Technology

 

Google has informed Nvidia of Prime Minister Modi's roundtable meeting with 15 technology CEOs at MIT. The event was attended by notable CEOs such as Sundar Pichai from Google, Jensen Huang from Nvidia, and Shantanu Narayen from Adobe. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the high-profile roundtable discussion, emphasizing innovation, collaboration, and the expanding tech sector in India. The meeting took place at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel as part of Prime Minister Modi's three-day visit to the United States, with the second portion scheduled in New York. Hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) School of Engineering, the roundtable included leaders of companies specializing in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, semiconductors, and biotechnology. 

The event was attended by notable CEOs such as Google's Sundar Pichai, Nvidia's Jensen Huang, and Adobe's Shantanu Narayen. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Modi shared that he engaged in a productive roundtable discussion with technology CEOs in New York. The meeting focused on various topics related to technology and innovation. The progress made by India in this field was also emphasized. I am pleased to observe a great deal of optimism towards India. 

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that the roundtable discussion centered on advanced sectors such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), quantum computing, biotechnology, and semiconductor technologies. 

CEOs engaged in an in-depth conversation with the Prime Minister regarding the changing technology landscape globally and the role of these advanced technologies in enhancing the quality of life for people worldwide, including those in India. In a statement, the MEA emphasized the utilization of technology for innovative solutions with the capacity to transform the global economy and human progression. On the topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Prime Minister emphasized India's commitment to advancing 'AI for All', with a focus on ethical and responsible deployment. 

PM Modi further affirmed to CEOs the nation's dedication to safeguarding intellectual property rights and cultivating a supportive ecosystem for technology-driven innovation. He urged the business executives to seize the growth potential of India, highlighting the country's ability to rank third in the global economy. The discussion also delved into investment prospects in India's rapidly expanding startup sector, which is experiencing a surge in technological advancements. Startups were viewed as an essential conduit for American corporations to penetrate the Indian market and aid in the development of innovative technologies and solutions.

MIT Professor Anantha Chandrakasan, leading the session, expressed gratitude to PM Modi and the CEOs in attendance for their valuable inputs. He reiterated MIT's continued dedication to leveraging technology for the betterment of the global community and enhancing cooperation between the United States and India in key technology fields.
