BJP workers stage protests demanding Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah's resignation after HC verdict
BJP workers staged protests in various locations throughout Karnataka seeking the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah following the dismissal of his petition challenging Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot's approval for an investigation in a site allotment case by the Karnataka High Court.
The protests took place in Siddaramaiah's home district of Mysuru, as well as in Hubballi and Belagavi, among other areas, as reported by party leaders. While holding the party's flag, protesters chanted slogans against Siddaramaiah demanding his resignation as Chief Minister. "In light of the High Court verdict, we urge Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to step down from his position promptly and cooperate with the investigation," stated a BJP representative.
The state chief, B Y Vijayendra, acknowledged that the High Court has confirmed the legality of the Governor's permission. The speaker urged the Chief Minister to refrain from making accusations against the Governor, abide by the High Court ruling, and step down from his role as Chief Minister due to allegations of his family's involvement in the MUDA scam. This statement was made during a press conference.
