The body of Hezbollah chief Nasrallah has been retrieved in Beirut

The body of Hezbollah chief Nasrallah has been retrieved in Beirut, with reports indicating his death was due to 'blunt trauma'.

Leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah's remains were found following an Israeli airstrike.

According to multiple sources, the body of Hassan Nasrallah, the head of Hezbollah, was found at the scene of an Israeli airstrike in the southern Beirut neighborhood of Dahieh.

Medical and security personnel have confirmed that his body was discovered "intact" without any visible wounds, leading to the belief that his death was caused by "blunt trauma" resulting from the explosion, as reported by Reuters news agency. On Sunday, smoke was observed rising above the debris in Beirut by Associated Press reporters, as the local residents congregated at the scene of devastation.

On Friday, residents witnessed as many as 10 explosions in the aftermath of the Israeli airstrike, which aimed at an expanse larger than a city block, resulting in the destruction of multiple residential structures reduced to a heap of concrete and distorted steel. The edifices descended into the earth, resulting in a cleared space larger than a soccer field.

Israel released videos on Saturday displaying the involvement of warplanes in the strike, specifically eight F-15Is. The military chose not to reveal the type or quantity of bombs deployed. The video showed warplanes carrying munitions resembling BLU-109 penetrator bombs of American origin, each weighing 2,000 pounds, in addition to a JDAM harness and tail kit.

Hezbollah Members ‘Eradicated’

The Israeli military announced on Sunday that the attack targeting the Hezbollah leader also resulted in the "elimination" of approximately twenty-four other members of the Lebanese armed group. The casualties at Hezbollah's subterranean headquarters in the Beirut suburb of Dahiyeh on Friday included: Ali Karaki, the Southern Front commander of Hezbollah; Ibrahim Hussein Jazini, in charge of Nasrallah's personal security unit; Samir Tawfiq Deeb, a consultant to Nasrallah; Abd al-Amir Muhammad Sablini, responsible for the force build-up of Hezbollah; and Ali Nayef Ayoub, responsible for Hezbollah's firepower. In recent days, the Israeli military has conducted a series of airstrikes targeting Hezbollah locations in southern Lebanon and intensifying strikes on the group's stronghold in southern Beirut. The IDF reported that Hezbollah's subterranean base was located only 53 meters away from a United Nations school in Beirut. It was alleged that leader Hassan Nasrallah was among those killed, along with over 20 other militants.
