Why does Hezbollah continue to utilize pagers for communication? 


Pagers utilized by Hezbollah members detonated simultaneously in various locations within Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of nine individuals and injuries to numerous others. The detonations commenced at approximately 3:30pm in the southern suburbs of Beirut, commonly referred to as Dahiyeh, as well as in the eastern Bekaa Valley. This incident resulted in the fatalities of at least nine individuals, including an 8-year-old girl, with nearly 3,000 individuals sustaining injuries. Hezbollah, known to receive support from Iran, attributed the deadly explosions to Israel in a formal statement. The militant group accused Israel of a criminal act of aggression that also impacted civilians, asserting that Israel will face consequences.


The attack was executed through the placement of explosives in 5,000 pagers, which had been procured by Hezbollah months prior. According to a high-ranking Lebanese security source, it is believed that Israel's Mossad intelligence agency orchestrated the planting of explosives within the devices. The pagers originated from Gold Apollo, a Taiwan-based company; however, the company confirmed that they were not the manufacturers of the devices. They were granted permission by a European company to utilize its brand name. The Lebanese informant informed Reuters that the equipment had been altered by Mossad during the manufacturing process.
