During his first visit to the United States since Prime Minister Narendra Modi took office for the third time, external affairs minister S Jaishankar met with United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Washington DC.

Blinken stated that India and the US are collaborating to tackle regional and global challenges. External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar and I convened to discuss our ongoing collaboration regarding the climate crisis and strategies to enhance regional security and prosperity," expressed Anthony Blinken following the engagement. Antony Blinken also acknowledged Modi's trip to Ukraine in August and stressed the importance of achieving a fair and enduring peace for Ukraine," as reported by US State Department spokesperson Mathew Miller. 

Blinken commented on the cordial relationship between Modi and Biden, underscoring its significance in reinforcing the valued bilateral ties between both nations, particularly in pivotal sectors such as space, semiconductors, and clean energy. In the aftermath of the UN General Assembly and discussions within the QUAD and on a bilateral level, we have a valuable opportunity to review the various issues we are collaboratively addressing, ultimately leading to improved livelihoods for our citizens and making a positive global impact," Blinken elaborated. Jaishankar expressed his pleasure at engaging in discussions with Blinken in Washington, referencing PM Modi's recent bilateral talks with US President Joe Biden during the latter's recent visit to the United States.
