PM Narendra Modi's 'boss move': Offering water to heckling Opposition MPs
During his 135-minute speech in the Parliament, PM Narendra Modi was marked by incessant sloganeering on the Manipur issue and heckling from Opposition MPs.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday offered water to Opposition MPs who interrupted his speech by shouting anti-government slogans in the Speaker's chamber. The incident occurred during the Lok Sabha session, when PM Modi was responding to a debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President's Address. During his nearly 135-minute speech, the PM was marked by incessant sloganeering on the Manipur issue and heckling from Opposition MPs.
The PM once offered a glass of water to an Opposition MP who was shouting slogans in the House during his speech in Parliament. One of the Opposition MPs accepted the glass of water offered by PM Modi.
The PM's action quickly became a trending topic on social media with many of his followers praising the gesture.
In a sarcastic post, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla wrote, "Dictator Modi offered water to the opposition MPs who were booing him throughout his speech."
"While PM Modi was speaking in Parliament, the opposition MPs were in the well shouting and disrupting him." In response, PM Modi offered them water. Royal behaviour," wrote one X user.
Another posted: "This is a boss move. Modiji offered water to the hecklers who kept shouting nonstop. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp counter attack against Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi, deriding him as "barak buddhi" (childish mind) and accusing him of linking Hindus with violence and making false allegations with the Locomotive Sabha. He demanded strict action against him to safeguard parliamentary democracy.
