During the 19th East Asia Summit in Laos, Prime Minister Modi stressed the importance of international collaboration in order to effectively combat terrorism and promote peace through dialogue and diplomatic efforts. He also emphasized India's backing for ASEAN unity.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 19th East Asia Summit in Laos on Friday, stressing that terrorism poses a significant threat to global peace. He further emphasized the need for collaborative efforts among forces advocating for humanity to address this common challenge. Terrorism poses a significant threat to global peace and security. In order to confront this challenge, organizations advocating for humanity must collaborate. The Prime Minister emphasized the need for enhanced collaboration in cyber, maritime, and space domains. The conflicts occurring in various regions around the world are disproportionately affecting nations in the Global South. Everyone desires peace and stability to be promptly reinstated in both Eurasia and West Asia. I hail from the birthplace of Buddha and consistently emphasize that we are not in an age of conflict. Solutions to issues cannot be found on the battlefield. It is vital to uphold sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international laws," he remarked. "Prioritizing a humanitarian approach, dialogue, and diplomacy is essential." In his capacity as Vishwabhadhu, the Prime Minister affirmed that India will persist in making contributions towards this objective. Upholding the importance of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and adherence to international laws, dialogue and diplomacy must be prioritized.
