Iran has rejected claims that link Tehran to Hamas' October 7 attack on Israel. The state media reported that Iran's permanent mission to the United Nations in New York dismissed these allegations. Responding to inquiries from The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal about Israel's assertion that Tehran was aware of Hamas' plan for the attack, the Iranian mission stated that any attempt to connect Iran or Hezbollah to the operation is unfounded and based on false documents. 

The New York Times revealed that minutes from Hamas' secret meetings, obtained by the Israeli military, detailed the planning of the October 7 attack and efforts to involve Iran and Hezbollah in the operation. The Israeli military has initiated a substantial offensive in Gaza in retaliation.
