Operation Aurora: Trump to utilize 1798 statute to deport violent illegal immigrant gang members.

"I am declaring today that upon assuming office, we will implement an 'Operation Aurora' at the national level to accelerate the deportation of these violent gangs," stated Trump.

Republican presidential nominee, former U.S. President Donald Trump delivered a speech at a rally held at the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center in Aurora, Colorado on October 11, 2024. Trump is currently conducting campaign events in crucial states in preparation for the presidential election on November 5th. Former President Donald Trump reiterated his intention to employ an immigration law from 1798 to deport members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua during an event in Aurora, Colorado. Trump announced the implementation of 'Operation Aurora' at the federal level upon assuming office to expedite the removal of such criminal organizations. Trump has emphasized Aurora in his efforts to showcase border and immigration issues, citing a surveillance video depicting armed individuals breaking into an apartment in the town. Despite officials refuting these claims, Trump continues to assert that Aurora is plagued by Venezuelan gang members terrorizing the local community. This proposal represents a rebranded version of Trump's previous plan to utilize the Alien Enemies Act, a component of the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798, to target gang and cartel affiliates. Trump stressed that his focus would be on the prioritization of federal deportations of migrants from Tren de Aragua.
