The Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Mumbai Metro Line 3, fully underground metro line, inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi

 


The Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Mumbai Metro Line 3, Mumbai's first fully underground metro line, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is set to open to the public on Monday, 7 October at 11 am. Regular operations will commence at 6:30 am the next day. This marks the partial opening of the 12.69-kilometer stretch between Aarey-JVLR-BKC, including 10 operational stations. Additionally, the Prime Minister unveiled the MetroConnect3 mobile app during the event, aimed at improving the travel experience with advanced features. "It is a significant day for residents of Mumbai tomorrow! This milestone signifies the dawn of a new era of effortless transportation." "The transformation of our city's landscape through Metro 3 will enhance the ease and efficiency of daily commutes," stated Ashwini Bhide, MMRC's Managing Director.

Consul General of Japan in Mumbai, Koji Yagi, conveyed a video message to commemorate the inauguration of Mumbai Metro Line 3. Funding for the project has been provided by Japan.
