Biden administration expresses gratitude to Trump following Israel-Hamas agreement: ‘Essential’
Israel and Hamas have reached an agreement to temporarily halt the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip that has persisted since October 7, 2023. Netanyahu also made a call to Trump to express his appreciation.
On Wednesday, the US State Department stated that the efforts of President-elect Donald Trump’s team were vital in facilitating the peace agreement between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller also expressed gratitude to Donald Trump and his associates for collaborating with the Biden administration, highlighting the significance of their participation in the discussions.
"In terms of President-elect Trump’s team's involvement, it has been extremely important in finalizing this agreement. This is crucial because, as I speak today, the current administration will conclude its term in just five days... We are grateful to the Trump team for their cooperation with us on this cease-fire accord. We believe it was essential that they participated in the negotiations," he stated during a press conference after the announcement of the deal.
