Donald Trump's initiative to acquire Greenland has progressed significantly. Republicans are beginning to rally support in the House of Representatives to advance a new bill that would empower the US President to engage in official discussions regarding the purchase of Greenland.
The legislation named the ‘Make Greenland Great Again Bill’ is in the process of securing more co-sponsors. As of Monday, the bill has already garnered ten sponsors. It is led by Republican congressman Andy Ogles along with congresswoman Diana Harshbarger.
This confirms that Donald Trump, who is set to assume the office of US President next week, is earnest about acquiring Greenland and integrating it into the United States. He has reiterated this sentiment several times in recent weeks and even inquired with his advisors back in 2019—during his previous tenure as President—about the possibilities of making it happen.
President-elect Trump has also indicated that his administration will not shy away from utilizing military and economic tactics to convince Denmark and Greenland if either party rejects the proposal to buy Greenland.
