He made this lighthearted comment while discussing his ties to India.


"Recently, I underwent genetic sequencing and DNA testing, which revealed that I possess Indian DNA. It’s well-known that Indian music gets me dancing," he remarked, causing much laughter among those present. He further noted, "India and Indonesia share a profound, historic bond. Our civilizations are interlinked, with a significant portion of our vocabulary derived from Sanskrit. Numerous Indonesian names are rooted in Sanskrit, and the remnants of ancient Indian culture have a notable impact on our daily lives. This connection may even be part of our heritage."


Furthermore, Mr. Subianto expressed admiration for Prime Minister Modi’s initiatives in poverty alleviation and support for the underprivileged, mentioning that he has gained valuable insights during his short stay.


"I am truly honored to be in India... I do not consider myself a professional politician or an accomplished diplomat; I speak honestly. Though my visit is brief, I have learned immensely from Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and dedication... His efforts in reducing poverty, supporting the marginalized, and aiding the most vulnerable in society are greatly encouraging to us," he stated.


Conveying wishes for "wealth, tranquility, and excellence" to the populace of India, Mr. Subianto expressed his hope for continued strong relations and friendship between Indonesia and India.
