Racist, sexist diversity nonsense’: Trump removes first female Coast Guard leader, Admiral Linda Lee Fagan
President Donald Trump has terminated the employment of Admiral Linda Lee Fagan, who was in charge of the US Coast Guard, pointing to her strong focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts.
Fagan, recognized as the first woman to head a branch of the US Armed Forces, was let go from her role on Tuesday. This decision follows Trump's announcement to abolish DEI programs throughout federal agencies.
Elon Musk, an influential figure in Trump's administration and responsible for cost-reduction strategies, suggested the dismissal in a message on X (previously known as Twitter). Although he did not explicitly confirm the action, Musk criticized DEI initiatives, asserting that "spending resources on racist/sexist DEI nonsense that undermines the US military and border security is no longer tolerable."
