How Trump Intends To Repatriate Unauthorized Immigrants Through The 'Most Extensive Deportation Initiative' In American History
On Friday, the White House revealed the launch of extensive deportation efforts, emphasizing that President Trump is fulfilling his commitment to take decisive measures against unauthorized immigration.
The Trump administration is encountering considerable obstacles in the repatriation of unauthorized immigrants within the US. Despite conducting numerous deportation flights last year, a report indicates that these efforts are being hampered by a lack of available aircraft.
To tackle this issue, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under Trump has begun utilizing military aircraft for deportations, a strategy that was not implemented during former President Joe Biden's term.
Deputy White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller noted that the administration is seeking further resources to enhance deportation initiatives, including assets from the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense.
"You have air resources from DHS, air resources from DOD, air resources from the State Department, along with commercial and charter air assets, and we will utilize every available resource to carry out lawful deportations," Miller informed the press.
The initiation of large-scale deportation operations commenced on Friday, as stated by the White House. In a statement on X, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reported the arrest of 538 criminal unauthorized immigrants, which includes a suspected terrorist, four members of the Tren de Aragua gang, and multiple individuals convicted of sex offenses against minors. "Deportation flights are underway. President Trump is delivering a strong and unequivocal message to the world: if you enter the United States illegally, you will encounter serious repercussions," she asserted.
