Israel has carried out airstrikes on Beirut's Dahiyeh suburb, causing extensive damage. According to Lebanon's National News Agency, Israel's air force struck multiple neighborhoods in the southern suburb overnight, resulting in significant destruction to dozens of buildings. The Associated Press reported this development on Friday.

Recently, Israel has increased its airstrikes on the northeastern city of Baalbek and nearby villages, along with multiple locations in southern Lebanon. As violence persists, mediators from around the world are increasing their efforts to reduce the conflict in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip. They are introducing new ideas to stop the regional hostilities, as reported. Israel has restarted large-scale evacuations and enforced strict limitations on assistance, leading to broad international criticism. The military has conducted raids on hospitals, claiming that militants are utilizing them. In Beit Lahiya, a northern border town targeted in last year's ground invasion, Israeli strikes this week led to the deaths of at least 88 Palestinians, including numerous women and children. The military declared its goal was to locate and target a spotter on a rooftop. Lebanon's Health Ministry noted that from October 8, 2023, when Hezbollah started firing rockets into Israel on a daily basis, over 2,800 individuals have lost their lives and approximately 13,000 have been injured. Since October, the situation has escalated, leading to a significant number of casualties. Since the 7th attack on Israel that triggered the conflict in Gaza, Hamas has suffered significant casualties. The recent assassination of their leader, Yahya Sinwar, was seen as a potential pivotal moment. However, the two sides seem no nearer to a truce, and Hamas, still holding many hostages, continues to wield significant influence in Gaza, as per AP reports.

The situation has now expanded to encompass militants from Lebanon to Yemen, with Iran, a main backer of these factions, moving towards a possible full-scale conflict with Israel. In northern Gaza, the situation seems to be stuck in a pattern of strong Israeli attacks, with Hamas then regrouping and responding. On Monday, Israel passed a law that might restrict the activities of the U.N. organization that is the main assistance provider in Gaza, despite objections from the United States and other allies. Israel alleges that Hamas has penetrated the organization, an accusation that the UN has refuted. The most recent Israeli military operation in northern Gaza started in early October, with a focus on Jabaliya, a crowded urban refugee camp that Israel claims Hamas has reorganized in.
