Washington state has called upon some National Guard members to be ready in case of any violence related to the 2024 election, as announced by the state’s governor on Friday. This action comes after concerns arose about possible disturbances during the upcoming election.

The state, where Democrat Kamala Harris is predicted to win over Republican Donald Trump based on polling data, recently experienced incidents where ballot boxes were set on fire. Early voting has already begun in Washington, with over 2 million ballots cast, according to the Election Lab at the University of Florida.

Governor Jay Inslee highlighted the need to be fully prepared for any potential violence or unlawful activities related to the 2024 general election, based on both general and specific information. His statement was posted on his official website on Friday.
