In SC affidavit, ED blames Arvind Kejriwal's 'non-co-operative attitude, conduct' for arrest

 


There was no "criminal or suspicious act" behind the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Commissioner of Police told the Supreme Court on Wednesday. In response to the AAP leader's petition against his arrest, an army group accused Kejriwal of having what it called "contradictory character".

The ED defended Arvind Kejriwal's arrest, saying the agency believed surveillance would lead to "better interrogation" of the accused. The organization accused Arvind Kejriwal of ignoring the law and non-cooperation.

"This conduct also led to a situation in which it was not possible to attack information in the intelligence agencies due to the defendants' failure to cooperate and comply with many of the statements filed," he said.
