Delhi Court rejects Kejriwal’s plea for regular consultation with doctor

 


A Delhi court on Monday rejected Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's request for a direction from Tihar jail authorities to allow Kejriwal to talk to a doctor via video chat for 15 minutes a day.


This order was issued on Kejriwal's request, seeking guidelines for daily consultation with doctors as well as guidelines for insulin injections.


However, special judge (PC) Kaveri Baweja, through an order, asked the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, to constitute a panel of doctors to determine whether Kejriwal needs insulin injection.


The court said that Kejriwal should be given treatment, but if special treatment is required, the prison authorities should follow the recommendations of the medical committee constituted by the Director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS).


Justice Baweja also directed the panel of doctors to prepare diet and exercise for the Delhi chief minister.
