The Indian Army has restarted patrolling in the Demchok area of Eastern Ladakh on November 1. Patrols in Depsang are also set to begin soon. Troops swapped candies for Diwali, as defense minister Rajnath Singh acknowledged the almost finished troop withdrawal along the Line of Actual Control.


India-China Dispute: In a noteworthy development in the current border conflicts, the Indian Army has started patrolling in the Demchok sector of eastern Ladakh since November 1. This change comes after a recent agreement between India and China to reduce tensions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).


Troops will return to the status they had before April 2020. Indian Army officials have stated that patrolling in the Demchok area will go back to levels observed prior to April 2020.
