Trump Appoints Loyalist ‘Deep State’ Critic Patel as Head of FBI 


Donald Trump has selected Kash Patel to serve as the director of the FBI, appointing a staunch supporter to oversee the principal United States law enforcement organization — which the incoming president has consistently condemned as corrupt. 


Patel gained notoriety by voicing indignation over the bureau’s inquiry into whether Trump's campaign colluded with Russia to influence the 2016 electoral process. Should he be confirmed, Patel will take over for Christopher Wray, who was appointed by Trump during his initial presidential term. 

Following his departure from the White House, agents from the FBI conducted a search of Trump’s Florida resort to recover classified materials, examined his attempts to reverse the 2020 electoral results, and looked into individuals who breached the US Capitol in his favor. 


The FBI is based in Washington and operates 56 regional offices throughout the nation that address a spectrum of cases, ranging from cybercrimes and financial fraud to homicide and accusations of sexual misconduct. 


“This FBI will eradicate the escalating crime crisis in America, dismantle migrant criminal organizations, and put an end to the malevolent blight of human and drug trafficking along the Border,” Trump stated on Saturday. 


Furthermore, Patel is a critic of federal agencies for what he perceives as unjust targeting of Republicans. 


In a declaration on his Truth Social platform, Trump described Patel as “an outstanding lawyer, investigator, and ‘America First’ advocate” who played a “key role in exposing the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax.” 


As the foremost US law enforcement body, the FBI has been involved in the most significant inquiries concerning the incoming president. Trump has vowed to implement a sweeping restructuring, asserting that the Federal Bureau of Investigation has conducted politically charged investigations against him and his associates.
