Supreme Court to hear Arvind Kejriwal's plea against arrest on April 15

The Supreme Court of India will hear Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's appeal against the Police Chief's arrest on April 15. Earlier this month, the Delhi High Court of Parliament upheld the arrest of the police chief from the head office. According to

ANI news, the case will be heard by Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta.

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Delhi Police last month in connection with a financial investigation into Delhi's tax laws. Last week, the Delhi court sent him for hearing till April 15.

Arvind Kejriwal moved the Supreme Court after the Delhi High Court said there was no crime. The 103-page order passed by single judge Swarana Kanta Sharma said the documents before the court alleged that Kejriwal had connived with others and was involved in making the rules. Article

"He (Kejriwal) is accused of being involved in the crime of money laundering in two capacities. Firstly, he was involved in the formulation of the GST law in his personal capacity and Secondly, he made the allegation under Article 70(1). PMLA, money laundering in the name of National Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party is involved in crime, Rs.45 crore proceeds of crime were spent on AAP's 2022 Goa elections campaign.

The Delhi High Court said that the Police Department had sufficient information to justify the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal. The court said that the union cannot be blamed for the arrest of the prime minister, because the problem has escalated to the point where there is no other choice.
