BJP official visits 'ailing' Eknath Shinde; Mahayuti anticipated to designate Devendra Fadnavis as Maharashtra's CM tomorrow 

The uncertainty regarding the identity of Maharashtra’s forthcoming chief minister is set to conclude on December 4, as the BJP legislative assembly faction of the state is expected to appoint its new leader, according to a BJP official. 

Although the solution to the question of Maharashtra's chief minister is increasingly apparent with Devendra Fadnavis being largely acknowledged as the candidate for the top role, members of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) persist in convening in preparation for the inauguration of the new governing body in the state, which is scheduled for December 5. 

On Monday, Ajit Pawar, a leader from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), traveled to Delhi, while Eknath Shinde and Fadnavis remained in Mumbai, engaging with party workers and leaders as they await confirmation regarding the selection of the next chief minister for Maharashtra. An official declaration of the chosen CM is likely to be made on Wednesday, December 4. 

Simultaneously, Shrikant Shinde, the son of Eknath Shinde, dismissed rumors on Monday suggesting he is a leading candidate for the position of deputy chief minister within the state, asserting that he is “not competing for any ministerial role in the state.”
