Bangladesh: Advocate Ramen Roy representing Chinmoy Das ‘severely assaulted, in critical care’, claims ISKCON 

The ISKCON representative asserted that Ramen Roy’s sole “offense” was advocating for Chinmoy Das in legal proceedings. 

Radharamn Das, a spokesperson for the International Society for Krishna Consciousness in Kolkata, has alleged that advocate Ramen Roy, who defended the Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Prabhu Das from Bangladesh in a judicial matter, was viciously attacked by “Islamists,” who also vandalized his residence in the neighboring nation. 

The ISKCON representative stated that Ramen Roy’s “offense” was standing up for Chinmoy Das in the courtroom. The assault has left Ramen Roy with critical injuries, and he is presently in intensive care, battling for his survival, as claimed by the ISKCON Kolkata spokesman. 


“Please pray for Advocate Ramen Roy. His sole ‘offense’ was defending Chinmoy Krishna Prabhu in legal matters. Islamists pillaged his residence and viciously assaulted him, leaving him in the ICU, fighting for his life. Chinmoy Das’s arrest 

Chinmay Das, who acted as a spokesperson for the Bangladesh Sammilita Sanatani Jagran Jote, was detained at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport last week while on his way to Chattogram to participate in a rally. A Bangladeshi court has refused bail to Chinmay Das and has remanded him to prison. 

A public prosecutor lost their life after violent confrontations erupted across Bangladesh following the detention of Chinmoy Das. The turmoil followed the refusal of bail for the Hindu leader, a former ISKCON priest, who is currently facing charges of sedition.
