Eknath Shinde resumes activities following a two-day hiatus, power-sharing negotiations set to restart


Upon his return from Dare on Sunday, Shinde allegedly convened a meeting with his high-ranking associates to deliberate the party's stance regarding government establishment. Following a two-day respite that ignited rumors of his dissatisfaction, Eknath Shinde is back in Mumbai, setting the stage for the resumption of the power-sharing discussions that had been paused for two days. The acting chief minister, who is purportedly displeased about not being appointed as the home minister in the upcoming administration, has not refuted the claims and mentioned that the resolution will be made during a gathering of the primary leaders from the three coalition parties.


On Friday, Shinde embarked on a two-day journey to his hometown Dare in Satara, canceling the planned meeting involving himself, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, and NCP chief Ajit Pawar. This gathering aimed at addressing the distribution of portfolios, the number of cabinet positions, and the guardian minister roles is now anticipated to occur on Monday. 


Shinde, who was informed by BJP leadership that the chief ministerial position would be held by a BJP member, had subsequently insisted on taking control of the home department. He reportedly became upset after the BJP opted not to relinquish this vital department, which is expected to be under the chief minister's jurisdiction. Shinde's sudden trip to his hometown is thought to be a manifestation of his dissatisfaction.
