Flanked by Eknath Shinde, Ajit Pawar, Devendra Fadnavis asserts his claim to establish the Maharashtra government

Devendra Fadnavis is set to take the oath of office as the chief minister of Maharashtra tomorrow.

Shortly after his selection as the BJP’s candidate for Maharashtra chief minister, Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday made an official claim to form a government in the state. He is scheduled to be sworn in as Maharashtra's CM in Mumbai tomorrow.

Accompanied by Shiv Sena's Eknath Shinde and NCP’s Ajit Pawar, Fadnavis met with Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan at the Raj Bhavan.

"We have approached the Governor and submitted the letter of support to assert our claim to establish the government in the state. The Governor has extended an invitation to us for the swearing-in ceremony tomorrow at 5:30 pm," Fadnavis stated.

Union minister Vijay Rupani announced today that two deputy chief ministers will also take their oaths alongside the chief minister of Maharashtra at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan tomorrow.

However, the union minister did not disclose the identities of the deputy chief ministers. It is anticipated that NCP’s Ajit Pawar could be one of the two deputy chief ministers. He also mentioned that there are no conflicts within the coalition. "There are no disagreements in Mahayuti; everyone is content and everything is in order," Rupani remarked.

Today, the Bharatiya Janata Party unanimously selected Devendra Fadnavis as the leader of the Maharashtra BJP Legislative Party, thus clearing the path for his ascension as the Maharashtra CM.
