Massive Traffic Congestion, Delhi-Noida Crossings Blocked Prior To Farmers' Protest 


Traffic conditions have been dramatically affected in various regions of Delhi and Noida preceding the farmers' 'Delhi Chalo' march aimed at the Parliament complex scheduled for Monday. This protest rally, coordinated by the Bhartiya Kisan Parishad (BKP) alongside other agricultural organizations from no fewer than 20 districts, is executed to urge critical demands upon the central administration. 

Images captured revealed extensive lines of vehicles in multiple locations throughout Delhi-NCR, amidst a significant presence of security forces and police roadblocks. A clip shared by news agency ANI depicts automobiles inching forward at a turtle’s pace on the Chilla border, whereas on the DND, all vehicles across at least 10 lanes appear to be halted completely. 

What are the farmers calling for? 

Farmers, represented by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (non-political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM), have been demonstrating against the federal government for a range of issues, including assured compensation and advantages under the recently passed agricultural legislation. They have been stationed at the Shambhu and Khanauri border crossings between Punjab and Haryana since February.
