'Canada had to blame India': Jaishankar says internal control was behind Hardeep Singh Nijjar's killing

Jaishankar responded to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's question on why he criticized India. He said some of the pro-Khalistan people took advantage of Canada's independence to form a lobby and become a vote bank. He said Canada's ruling party does not have a majority in the government and some parties are loyal to Khalistan leaders.

We have repeatedly appealed to them (Canada) not to grant visas, legal or political status to these people who are creating problems for us and our relationship,” Jaishankar said. However, Jaishankar said that the Canadian government did not take any action, adding that India tried to extradite 25 people, most of whom were Khalistan sympathizers, but did not pay any price.
