Return or face my anger -DeveGowda warning to grand son Prajwal
Former Prime Minister and BJP leader HD Deve Gowda issued a stern warning to his son-in-law and sex offender Prajwal Revanna, asking him to return to the country and surrender to the police. He said that if the accusations against Revanna were true, she should receive the harshest punishment.
In a two-page open letter titled "Warning Prajwal Revanna", the 91-year-old man said he was not aware of the allegations against his son-in-law, who is currently an MP for Hasan. In his long and touching letter, he said: “The harshest words have been used against me and my family over the last few weeks, I know that. I dont want them. I don't want to criticize them. I will not argue with them that they should wait until all the facts are known. I also can't trust people I don't know about Prajwal's activities. I couldn't convince them that I had no desire to protect him. I could not convince them that I had no knowledge of his whereabouts or his travels abroad. I believe I will answer my heart. I believe in God and I know that God Almighty knows the truth.
Deve Gowda also warned Prajwal, who fled the country a month ago, to return if he respected his grandfather. He further wrote, “There is only one thing I can do. I can give Prajwal a warning and ask him to come back immediately and surrender to the police. He needs to go to law. This is not an objection, but a warning.
Deve Gowda also told Prajwal that disobedience to the family would lead to complete separation. "If he does not heed these warnings, he will face the wrath of me and his family. The law will prosecute him, but disobeying the family will keep him alive alone. Respect me, he must return immediately," he added.
