A Delhi court on Tuesday extended Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's hearing in the money laundering case till May 20. Rouse Avenue Court Special Judge Kaveri Baweja gave the verdict during the final hearing of the ED case. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is holding a hearing on Kejriwal's grant of interim bail. Kejriwal was arrested by the Directorate of Police (ED) on the evening of March 21. The candidate's statement stated that Kejriwal received money for the Goa elections. Delhi Chief Minister approached the Supreme Court challenging the above order of Delhi High Court Judge Swarana Kanta Sharma. The Supreme Court is hearing his defense today.
AAP leader Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh were also accused in the ED case. While Sisodia remains in jail, Singh was recently granted bail by the Supreme Court on the recommendation of the ED. ED alleged that Arvind Kejriwal was the "mastermind" of the Delhi excise scam and was directly involved in illegal expenditure of more than Rs 10 lakh. 1 billion rupees. ED's information is that SCT is used within the scope of cooperation to provide 1-fold benefit to the wholesale market.
