Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kolkata on Saturday evening and is scheduled to address the Lok Sabha elections in three districts of West Bengal on Sunday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kolkata from Jharkhand. After landing at the airport, he went to the Indian Presidential Palace by land under tight security.
Modi arrived in West Bengal after wrapping up campaigning for the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections scheduled to be held on May 13 in Odisha and before leaving for Jharkhand on Saturday.
In the elections in Odisha, Modi made a special challenge to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, attacking him to name all the problems in the state without looking at the title and investment of land.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address four elections in three districts of West Bengal on Sunday: Barrackpore in North 24 Parganas district, Panchla in Howrah and Ra in Hooghly district and Chinsu in Pursura.
Prime Minister Modi arrived in Kolkata by road from Jharkhand on Saturday evening and was welcomed by Prime Minister Ananda Bose at Raj Bhavan.
This is the Prime Minister's second visit to Kolkata this month. Modi arrived in the city on May 2 and spent the night at Raj Bhavan before addressing protests in Krishnanagar, Purba Bardhaman and Bolpur Lok Sabha constituencies the next day.
Kolkata announced strict traffic restrictions due to Modi's visit to Kolkata this weekend. All vehicles are prohibited in areas such as Raj Bhavan, Red Road, Hoogly Bridge, Jensen and Nicholson Island until 1 pm on May 12.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced the exit zone in Saptagram on Saturday and endorsed the TMC candidate from Hoogly. Even though Modi had campaigned in the city the day before.
The fourth phase of the West Bengal Lok Sabha elections campaign ended on 11 May. Bolpur and Birbhum.
