2 soldiers die in gunfight with terrorists in J&K's Kishtwar: Army

 

Two soldiers perished and two were wounded in a skirmish with terrorists in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, raising concerns about security ahead of the assembly elections in the region. 

The incident occurred during a search operation conducted by the 11 Rashtriya Rifles and J&K Police in the Pingnar Dugadda forest area of Chatroo, following intelligence reports regarding the terrorists' presence. Based on intelligence information, a collaborative operation was initiated with J&K Police in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar. During the engagement, four army personnel sustained injuries.

 The Nagrota-based White Knight Corps announced that the operation is currently ongoing. Two injured soldiers, Naib Subedar Vipin Kumar and Sepoy Arvind Singh, unfortunately, passed away due to their injuries. The GOC White Knight Corps and all ranks pay tribute to the Bravehearts and extend their heartfelt condolences to the families. Officials have identified Musadiq Shafiq Wani and Sahil Thakur as the two other injured soldiers.
