The Union cabinet approved health coverage for senior citizens under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
The Union cabinet has approved health coverage for senior citizens on Wednesday under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. As per Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the initiative will be advantageous to around six crore elderly individuals. Eligible recipients will receive coverage of up to ₹5 lakh through the program. The program is anticipated to bring advantages to approximately 45 million households in India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the scheme on X by stating, "Our commitment remains firm towards providing accessible, cost-effective, and high-quality healthcare services for all citizens of India." This program will guarantee dignity, care, and security for 60 million citizens!
