Bengal Governor Ananda Bose banned officers and officials from entering the Raj Bhavan
West Bengal Chief Minister CV Ananda Bose banned the police from entering the Raj Bhavan due to "unauthorized, illegal, deceptive and misleading 'investigations' intended to please political leaders."
The move came after the governor was accused of assaulting an employee of Raj Bhavan, an allegation Bose denied and said he would not be "intimidated"
The governor also said Finance Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya's "defamatory and unconstitutional speech" against Bose. (Raj Bhavanon, May 2 statement) The statement also stated that the governor will not attend the meetings attended by the leaders.
An employee of the Raj Bhavan was shot twice. He reportedly lodged a complaint at the Hare Street police station in Kolkata.
"The truth will prevail. I refuse to be intimidated by careful statements. If anyone wants the election results by harming me, God save him! But they cannot stop me from fighting corruption and crime in Bengal," the Governor said.
