Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reached the accident site on Monday to understand the situation. He also announced that a gift of Rs 5 lakh would be given to the families of the dead and the treatment of the injured.
BMC said the hoarding was done illegally without prior permission from the company. Mumbai Police registered a case under IPC 304, 338, 337 and 34 against car owner Bhavesh Bhide and others at Pantnagar police station.
President Murmu expressed his sadness in his article, "I want the injured to come back and do rescue work."
