Doctor Sexual Assault-Homicide Case Updates: 'Center wicket knocked out' says TMC Member of Parliament targeted by party following former R G Kar principal's apprehension
Kolkata continues to witness demonstrations in response to the sexual assault and killing of a healthcare worker at R G Kar Hospital in the city. The CBI detained Sandip Ghosh, the ex-head of the school, for suspected financial irregularities. In response to Ghosh's detention, Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose informed the PTI that this signals the start of the downfall, without providing more details. Conversely, while in a defensive position, TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee has instructed party members not to speak negatively about the doctors protesting or members of the general public. A TMC student wing member got suspended for reportedly being at the scene of the crime with law enforcement authorities.
